Cano Water

We’re all stuck in a toxic relationship with plastic. In fact, one million single-use plastic bottles are still purchased every minute 🤯

As a pioneer of infinitely recyclable aluminium cans, Cano Water wanted to launch our #breakupwithplastic campaign at an event that would really get people talking. So when we found out that Wimbledon produces over 250,000 single use plastic bottles we knew we needed to encourage them to leave their toxic relationship….

#BreakUpWithPlastic

We urged Wimbledon to break up with plastic by sending a fully electric, carbon-neutral billboard van, to circulate the Wimbledon area.
The van provided Wimbledon with a Cano Water helpline that people could call to hear a cheeky voicemail that speaks directly to Wimbledon to “break up with plastic”, and guides callers to Cano Water's website for further information on transitioning away from single-use plastic.

We sent Cano Water employees to the event in T-shirts bearing the helpline and campaign slogan. They engaged with attendees, distributed samples and started conversations about the need to switch. We even tactically AirDropped the hotline to people in the Wimbledon queue, as well as to guests in the Evian VIP tent under the alias of Evian at Wimbledon

We continued the #BreakUpWithPlastic campaign by creating several fake OOH campaigns, and street activations.

Break up with Plastic Hypnotherapy

Brands selling plastic bottles have practically brainwashed people into thinking that if it’s ok to drink from them. Wrong!

It got us thinking… what if we tried hypnotherapy? We partnered with Damien O’Brien of BBC, ITV and Netflix fame to hypnotise four random plastic water lovers to #breakupwithplastic and switch to infinitely recyclable aluminium cans.

This is NOT an act. None of it was scripted. It’s 100% real. We know because it didn’t work at all on some people 🫣🤣
(They didn’t make the final cut).
